Our Orthopedic Services

Overview of Orthopedic Surgery

At San Marcos Blvd. Veterinary Hospital, we specialize in treating a range of orthopedic conditions, including ACL/CCL tears, hip dysplasia, and complex fractures. Our surgical options include Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO), Triple Tibial Osteotomy (TTA), and various fracture repair techniques, tailored to meet the specific needs of each patient.

Dr. Demner’s vision is to deliver the best surgical care to animals and their owners in the comfort and familiarity of their primary care hospital… while receiving the same expert care found at specialty centers at a fraction of the price. He enjoys all aspects of surgery, but his specific interests include orthopedic, and soft tissue surgery.

Advanced Diagnostic Tools

Accurate diagnosis is key to effective treatment. Our hospital utilizes cutting-edge imaging technologies, including digital X-rays, MRI, and CT scans, to provide precise diagnoses quickly and non-invasively. This technology allows for detailed views of bone and soft tissue, aiding in the accurate planning of surgical procedures.

Dr. Todd Bowdre

Medical Director and Practice Owner

Dr. Todd Bowdre is a 2003 graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biological Sciences. He relocated to Southern California after graduation from veterinary school in order to pursue a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery. After his internship, he had every intention to move back home to Colorado, however, fell in love with California and the Pacific Ocean. Dr. Bowdre now calls North County San Diego his home and has made some serious roots! He’s happily married and the proud father of two amazing daughters. They have a perfect little dog, a red healer mix, a scruffy, overweight but cute cat, and a free-range tortoise!

Over the last 20 years, Dr. Bowdre’s veterinary career has been focused on emergency and critical care medicine as a dedicated, full-time ER doctor working mostly nights, weekends and holidays. Due to the crazy, but flexible schedule of emergency medicine, he has also been able to spend a significant amount of time working in shelter medicine and spay neuter clinics. He has developed special interests in wellness care, dentistry, and general practice as well as practice ownership. He truly looks forward to this next chapter of his career serving San Marcos and the surrounding community’s families and their pets. He said “From my family to yours; we look forward to seeing you soon!”
